What should you do while a swap is stuck waiting for confirmations

Wait. That is the entire answer, and it is also the only answer that works. Once your deposit transaction is broadcast to the network, nothing you do from your side will make confirmations arrive faster.

You send from your own wallet straight to the exchanger — nothing to connect, no account, and you stay on this page throughout. Rates are indicative until a swap is opened.

The swap is carried out by an independent exchanger and the deposit address above is theirs. chengshionsol.xyz never holds, receives or controls your funds, has no key to that address, and earns a referral commission. Opening a swap sends your receiving address, IP, browser and timezone to the exchanger for their compliance checks; we store none of it. Check their terms, fees and country restrictions before sending anything.

The mechanics are simple. Your swap is waiting for the source blockchain to finalize the deposit, which means a certain number of blocks must be built on top of it. The exchanger cannot see your funds as spendable until that happens. You cannot speed up block production. You cannot nudge the network. You can only observe.

So what is actually useful while you wait? Three things: verify the transaction is real, check the expected confirmation count, and stop refreshing the page every thirty seconds.

First, verification. Open a block explorer for the source chain and paste your transaction ID. Look for the number of confirmations. If that number is climbing steadily, the swap is progressing normally. If it is stuck at zero for far longer than the chain's average block time, you may have a different problem - a low fee, a congested mempool, or a malformed transaction. That is worth investigating. A transaction that is simply slow is not worth investigating; it is worth patience.

Second, know the target. The hub page under "Why your swap is still pending and what actually speeds it up" explains what determines the wait. Different blockchains require different confirmation counts - some settle in a handful of blocks, others need dozens. Find out what your swap's source chain demands. If you are waiting for 30 confirmations on a chain that produces a block every 15 seconds, that is under eight minutes. If you are waiting for 30 confirmations on a chain that produces a block every ten minutes, that is five hours. The difference is not a malfunction. It is arithmetic.

Third, do not contact support yet. Support cannot override the blockchain. If the confirmation counter is moving, the swap will finish. If the counter is not moving, support also cannot override the blockchain - but they can tell you whether the transaction is stuck in a mempool or was dropped entirely. The threshold for contacting them is not "this is taking longer than I hoped." The threshold is "the block explorer shows zero confirmations after a period equal to several average block times, and I have checked the fee I paid was reasonable."

What you should not do is send a second transaction. Some people panic and try to "replace" the first one by sending the same funds again. That can create a double-spend attempt, which the exchanger may interpret as fraud, or it can simply fail and cost you another fee. If the first transaction is valid, it will confirm eventually. If it is invalid, a second transaction with the same error will also be invalid.

What about the swap quote expiring? This causes real anxiety, but it is usually a non-issue. The quote is a price estimate at the time you started. If the market moves while you wait, the exchanger may adjust the rate when the swap actually executes. That is not a reason to cancel or redo anything - it is just how floating-rate swaps work. The alternative, a fixed rate, is often not offered until the deposit confirms, precisely because the exchange rate is volatile.

The honest truth is that most of what feels like "doing something" during a pending swap is self-harm. Refresh the explorer once every ten minutes. Read the chain's current block time to estimate the remaining wait. If you have a real reason to believe the transaction is broken - not slow, but broken - then check the fee, check the address, check the transaction size. If all of those look normal, close the tab and come back later.

A swap left alone will almost always finish. A swap you fiddle with, resend, or panic about will finish at exactly the same speed, but with more stress attached. The only genuine action available to you is to confirm that the deposit transaction is valid and then let the network do its work. That is the whole job. Do that, and the rest of the wait is just time.
